Mohd Redzuan Devan Abdullah

Director, Banking and Finance

Mohd Redzuan Devan Abdullah is an Associate Director at Friday Concepts, specialising in operational risk, business continuity, compliance, project management and systems transformation.
He brings more than 35 years of financial and capital markets experience, anchored around operations transformation and risk management programmes that deliver measurable efficiency gains and cost reduction — designed to be funded from the savings they generate rather than heavy capital outlay.
Redzuan was Group Chief Operating Officer of K & N Kenanga Holdings Berhad, a listed investment bank with over 800 staff, where he led the five-year transformation programme, information technology and equity broking operations.
At Kenanga he served on the Group Information Technology Steering Committee, Transformation Project Steering Committee, Group Operational Risk Committee and Group Exco.
Earlier in his career he was AML Programme Director for Asia Pacific at Citibank, responsible for migrating AML monitoring from individual countries to regional hubs, bringing product monitoring into AML systems, rolling out new systems across Asia and developing PMO standards. He also served as Citibank's Securities Operations Head and Transaction Services Head.
He went on to head Cash Management at AmBank, where he established the bank's cash management framework and led the outsourcing of cheque clearing, and served as Chief Operating Officer of Bank Islam, delivering the outsourcing of self-service terminals, straight-through processing for electronic payments and a risk identification mechanism.
Redzuan began his career at Malaysian Central Depository Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Bursa Malaysia, as one of the pioneering team that developed the requirements for a central depository. His expertise spans operations, operational risk, business continuity, fraud risk, compliance, AML/CFT and technology.
